Alexander (Alex) Edrington President & co-Founder alex@parasitX.com
Prior to ParasitX, Alex served as Vice President Engineering for AdaptivEnergy, LLC, a micro energy harvesting startup. He has previously held roles as Engineering Manager, Product Development Manager, and Technology Team Lead while developing actuation and energy harvesting products and intellectual property for PAR Technologies, LLC. Alex has authored several papers and conference proceedings in the areas of self-assembling copolymers and energy harvesting. His educational background is in materials & metallurgical engineering, where as an inaugural recipient of the Marvin Camras Scholarship he obtained his B.S. with high honors from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL. Alex’s graduate studies were in Materials Science and Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA.
James (Jim) Vogeley Founder jameshv@parasitX.com
As one of the founding members of ParasitX, Jim brings an unparalleled entrepreneurial record to our organization. Mr. Vogeley founded nView Corporation based upon intellectual property he developed upon inventing the LCD projection panel. nView went public on NASDAQ in 1991 and Mr. Vogeley led a successful secondary offering the following year. Jim was also co-founder of Bio-Systems Research, Inc., which specialized in eye-tracking computer consoles for the handicapped. He also holds numerous patents and inventions in energy harvesting and low power electronics. An alumnus of HP Medical Products, Jim graduated with distinct honors with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University.
David Wright Technology Development & co-Founder dave@parasitX.com
Dave is a multidisciplinary engineer, distinguished in several technical areas including acoustics, electromechanics, fluid mechanics, robotics, and electronics design. He has designed both high and low volume products, including (amongst many): production equipment for sputtering metal films, a document feeder for office copiers, a fog-free mirror, and the Econoslide linear positioner. Dave holds six US patents, has won five SBIR awards, and is the author of over 200 reports including numerous conference presentations and publications. Dave’s undergraduate studies were in Engineering Science at Penn State University, State College, with his graduate studies in Thermodynamics at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH.
